Recently, Xian Tao customers invited Wuhan UHV to do a preventive power test for Ganzhou Hydroelectric Power Plant in Jiangxi Province. The test includes hydro-generator test, current transformer test, voltage transformer test, cable test, vacuum circuit breaker test, excitation transformer test and relay protection test.

According to the content of the test, Wuhan UHV technicians counted the equipment and tools used in the test and drove to the test site as soon as possible. After arriving at the test site, the technicians formulated a detailed work plan for the test content, which is expected to take one day to complete.

On the morning of the same day, the technicians decided to complete the test of the generator first, including the insulation resistance test of the stator winding, the DC resistance test of the stator winding, the DC withstand voltage and leakage current test of the stator winding, as well as the insulation resistance test, DC resistance test and AC impedance test of the rotor. It is worth mentioning that when doing the DC withstand voltage test, it is necessary to pay attention to the safety distance, do a good job of protective measures, ensure the safety of personnel, and ensure that the test can be completed safely and smoothly. Since the generator under test has been repaired, the customer attaches great importance to it, but fortunately, the test was successfully completed, and the test data are qualified, so it can be put into use with confidence.

In the afternoon of the same day, the technicians set out to begin other tests. The high-voltage part of the test includes the withstand voltage test of circuit breaker, transformer, and cable, which has a certain degree of danger. Before the test, the technicians will clean up the test environment on the site, and irrelevant personnel other than the test personnel need to retreat to the cordon to prevent safety accidents caused by accidental intrusion.

In the process of doing the high-voltage test, the technicians always observe the changes of the tested product with the withstand voltage time, and pay close attention to the surrounding environment, and the whole process cannot be slack, so that the power can be cut off immediately after an emergency, to ensure the safety of personnel and the tested product.

After a day of work, under the skillful operation of technical personnel, the preventive test of the entire generator set was finally successfully completed!
