    The insulating oil dielectric loss tester (also known as oil dielectric loss tester, insulating oil dielectric loss and resistivity tester) is a precision testing device used for evaluating the electrical performance of liquid insulating media such as transformer oil, transformer oil, and capacitor oil. The instrument primarily measures parameters including the dielectric dissipation factor (tan δ), relative permittivity, and volume (or DC) resistivity of insulating oil. By analyzing the insulation performance of the oil, it helps determine whether the oil is affected by issues such as moisture, oxidation, contamination, or aging, providing a reliable basis for the safe operation of power equipment.

    Working Principle

    The insulating oil dielectric loss tester operates on the principle of AC bridge measurement. Under a constant temperature and specified test voltage, an AC electric field is applied to the oil sample. Since insulating oil is not a perfect insulator, a certain amount of energy loss occurs under the influence of the AC electric field. By measuring parameters such as the dielectric dissipation factor (tan δ) and capacitance, combined with temperature compensation algorithms, the insulation performance and aging degree of the insulating oil can be accurately evaluated.
